About Me:

Book divader for a dark fantasy book coming early 2027 - The Puppet King by Nikoleta Ivano

Hi, I’m Nikoleta.

I’m a fantasy author and professional ghostwriter who has spent the last seven years doing one thing over and over again: turning ideas into stories people actually want to keep reading.

Sometimes those ideas are mine. Sometimes they arrive as a detailed outline, a half-finished manuscript, a folder full of character notes, or a message that begins with, “Okay, this might sound complicated…”

Those are usually my favorite ones.

I’ve worked on more than 100 books across romance, fantasy, paranormal fiction, cozy mystery, horror, thriller, and other genres, helping authors develop characters, untangle plots, strengthen emotional arcs, build worlds, and turn the story in their head into something that works on the page.

But fantasy has always had a particular hold on me.

The writer behind the worlds

I love stories about complicated people.

Characters who make terrible decisions for understandable reasons. Relationships that have to earn their happy moments. Found families made up of people who probably need therapy more than they need another dangerous mission. Political schemes, impossible choices, secrets, betrayals, morally questionable behavior and the occasional fictional catastrophe I absolutely created on purpose.

My own work tends to live somewhere between dark fantasy, romance, political intrigue, trauma, and hope.

I’m currently working on The Puppet King, a dark fantasy about identity, survival, control, memory, found family, and what happens when everyone has already decided what kind of monster you are.

It’s the kind of story I love most: emotionally messy, character-driven, and full of people trying to figure out who they are after surviving who they were forced to become.

Somewhere along the way, writing became my job too.

I started ghostwriting years ago and eventually realized that helping someone build their story scratches a completely different creative itch.

There’s something incredibly satisfying about sitting down with an author who has hundreds of ideas competing for space in their head and slowly turning all of it into characters, structure, chapters, conflict, relationships, and an actual book.

My job isn’t to take over someone else’s story.

It’s to understand what they’re trying to create and help them make it stronger.

That might mean ghostwriting an entire manuscript, developing an unfinished idea, creating a detailed outline, working through pacing problems, strengthening character arcs, or helping an author figure out why a story they love still feels like something is missing.

And collaboration matters to me.

I want the person behind the story involved. I want their characters to still feel like their characters when we’re finished. I’ll give professional advice, point out problems, suggest solutions and occasionally tell you that the subplot you adore is quietly destroying your pacing, but the story is still yours.

And when I’m not writing?

I’m probably still thinking about writing.

Reading something and mentally analyzing why a scene worked. Staring at a wall because I’m trying to solve a plot problem. Making notes at ridiculous hours because a character finally decided to cooperate. Researching something completely normal that would look deeply concerning without context.

Very normal writer behavior, obviously.

I also genuinely love talking about storytelling, the tiny decisions that make characters feel alive, why romantic tension sometimes falls flat, why a villain works, why pacing suddenly collapses halfway through a book, and all the strange little pieces that eventually become a finished story.

That’s a big part of why this website exists.

Whether you’re here as a reader or a writer, welcome.

If you’re looking for fantasy books filled with complicated characters, emotional damage, impossible choices, romance, rebellion and found family, you’ll probably feel very comfortable here.

And if you have a story of your own sitting in a notebook, a document, or somewhere in the back of your mind refusing to leave you alone, I’d love to hear about it.

Every book starts as somebody saying, “I have this idea…”

And I happen to really love what comes next.
